Privacy Compliance Review

Intro to the Privacy Compliance Review

Each year, school districts and charter schools are required to submit evidence to the Student Data Privacy Team at USBE to demonstrate compliance with federal and state privacy regulations (see Board Rule R277-487). This process is known as the annual privacy compliance review.

Canvas Course

The privacy compliance review can be an intensive process, and our Student Data Privacy Specialists will be checking for several pieces of evidence as a part of the review. Details about what you will be required to submit are found in our Data Manager Canvas Course, which is an open course with no required login. The course also includes resources, such as template notices and the metadata dictionary instructions document. Below is a breakdown of some of the relevant pages of the course.
