Stanford Innovation Studio

Supporting Differentiation and Student Engagement since 2011, the team from Stanford has facilitated Utah educators in the Design Thinking Process that engages students in the following 21st century skills:

  • listening and speaking through interviewing,
  • empathy mapping through inference, using inquiry methods through computer-based discovery,
  • brainstorming ideas for a real-world problem space,
  • generating themes through clustering,
  • developing what if statements,
  • developing low resolution prototyping,
  • giving and receiving feedback through the iteration process

Utah teachers as Stanford Fellows spent a week in August, 2014 at the Museum of Natural Curiosity with the Stanford Team developing curriculum. Click here for more information.

Utah now has its own Design Thinking Team available for supporting teachers in experiencing Stanford’s Design Thinking Process and using the experience to design curriculum for all grades in all subjects.
