Industry Tests

Industry Tests

Overview

Districts are responsible for submitting student results to the state annually for the tests shown below. In order to qualify for Skill Certificate Program funding, all results must be received on or before June 15. Any data received after that deadline will be considered for funding the following year.

Please input all student results into the YouScience system even if the student did not pass the industry exam. Verification documentation for students that did not pass does not need to be sent in. The data will be used to run Pathway reports.

Third-Party Industry Tests and Credentials

Third-Party Industry Tests and Credentials Master List

1. YouScience
All third-party industry test results, with the exception of Certiport exams, must be entered into the YouScience system. Please enter all students regardless of pass/fail results. The Industry Exams: Student List Import outlines step-by-step instructions for inputting industry test results.

2. Official verification of results, with the exception of Certiport exams, must also be submitted to the Utah State Board of Education by the CTE director through file transfer into the Local Education Agency's (LEA) upload subfolder in Utah State Board of Education's secure file transfer site (MOVEit). Please do not mail or e-mail the verification results.

3. Verification for all third-party industry test packets, with the exception of Certiport exams, must include the following files:

  • Copy of the state Skill Certificate Industry Test Report (at the teacher level) from the YouScience website for each third-party industry test. This must be included as a cover sheet with the official verification documentation for each third-party industry test number.
  • Official verification documentation for each student (alphabetized) from the third-party industry testing vendor or entity granting an industry credential.
  • A separate test packet must be submitted for each class

Examples of verification documents include an official copy of actual test scores from the third-party industry testing vendor, copies of licenses, certificates, or other official verification confirming that a student passed the corresponding industry exam or earned the accompanying credential.

Notes:
Make sure all verification documentation appears in a readable font (preferably 11 point) and is sorted in the same order as it appears on the cover report.

You will no longer be required to input Certiport exam results into the YouScience system or submit official verification of Certiport test results to USBE through secure file transfer into the LEA’s subfolder (MOVEit).

4. Third party industry test verification packets must be transferred into the LEA's upload subfolder in Utah State Board of Education's secure file transfer site, (MOVEit), no later than June 15th.

5. Submit the files into Utah State Board of Education's secure file transfer site using the following naming format:

Filename = LEA name + industry exam number + teacher last name + teacher first name
Example: Alpine210DoeJohn.pdf

6. Notify Jeff McDonald via e-mail upon file upload completion.
