The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) may have several items released for formal public comment at any given time. Below you will find information on open items for public comment, helpful resources, and information on how to report a concern. Feel free to share your input with USBE.
Members of the public are also welcome to send informal comments to their board members at any time (USBE Board Members). If you do not know the name of your board member, please go to Learn About the Candidates and Issues on the Vote.Utah.org website.

Summary: The USBE is seeking public comment on drafts of the state’s new supplemental science standards for Anatomy/Physiology, Genetics, Geology, Marine Biology/Oceanography, and Meteorology. These standards supplement the Utah Core Standards for Science and have been created to provide Utah educators with guidance on the specific knowledge and skills for students to learn when enrolled in these five courses. USBE staff is seeking public feedback to gather stakeholder input to guide finalizing these standards.

Summary: USBE is partnering with the Utah State Legislature to reexamine the state’s school accountability system.
