Full-Day Kindergarten (FDK) Grant

Overview

The Full-Day Kindergarten (FDK) grant is a needs-based grant that takes into consideration the following 4 criteria when determining which Local Education Agencies (LEAs) receive funding priority: socioeconomic need, geography, efforts to expand FDK, and the receipt of ongoing federal funds. These FDK funds are in addition to Optional Enhanced Kindergarten (OEK) funds. The purpose of FDK funding is to add additional FDK classrooms each year. As the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) continues to receive increased funding, more classrooms will continue to be added each year.
