5.4 Print, Display, Save a report to file, or Quit
Use one of four command buttons in the Print Data dialog:
-

This command button will print the reports in succession directly to
the default printer. As each report selected comes in line to be printed,
a printer dialog box will appear (Fig. 63), generated by the operating
system of the local workstation. Here you may select the page range to
print, the number of copies to print, or change to a different printer.

-

Selecting this command will display each report on the screen as a
print preview before actual printing is executed (Fig. 64).

-
Scroll through all the pages using the VCR buttons.
-
Go to a specific page to preview by clicking on the page icon to open the
Go To Page screen.
-
View the report from different magnifications using the percentage field.
-
Close the preview to print or skip each report.
Click on the exit door icon. As a preview closes, you will be given
an option to print to printer (Fig. 65) for each report in the queue. Answer
"Yes" to activate the printer dialog box (Fig. 63), or "No" to skip the
report and preview the next report.

-

Selecting this command will save ("print") the report to a file in
ASCII text format instead of printing a hard copy. A dialog box will appear
(Fig. 66) to prompt for a DOS pathname and filename for the report to be
saved. Reports that are "printed to file" may be manipulated and formatted
by other software programs, such as a spreadsheet.
