SIS 2000+ Student Schedule Editor
Previous sections have explained how to create a student's schedule by first choosing a course request and then finding an available period to schedule it in - called "Schedule a Course" or "Schedule a Group of Courses." Another approach is to choose an available period, term and cycle day first and then find an appropriate course to fill that period. This is called "Schedule a Period."
7.1 Set the View
Course sections/segments that are available for the period to be scheduled
will differ according to the target Cycle Day or Term. Schedules may be
viewed in a variety of ways. Before proceeding with the Schedule a Period
procedure, select the View that will best display the target Cycle Day
and Term. Select to view the schedule by Term or by Cycle
by clicking either option in the View field. Then select which term
or cycle day to be viewed, as follows:

To change the default date, double click the field or click on the field button to activate a drop-down calendar (Fig. 63). Use the small VCR buttons to navigate the calendar to the target month. Select the target date within the target month until it is highlighted in yellow. Then click on the Select command button. The calendar will close and the target date will be copied into the date field.

with a French course in the View by Cycle mode.
7.4.1 After the target period/term/cycle day has been selected (Fig. 66), click on the Sched command button (or ALT+S on the keyboard).
7.4.2 Select Entry Date/Entry Code
In the dialog box that appears (Fig. 26), enter the Entry Date
(the date of the first day the student will attend the course) and the
Entry Code (reason for starting the course).

Entry Date -
The first time this dialog box is opened the Entry Date
date field will default to the "display date" on the main screen in the
Show Schedule as of field. In subsequent usage the Entry Date
will default to the date that was used in the previous scheduling action.
There are four methods for entering the proper date in the field:

7.4.3 Start Scheduling
Click on the Start Scheduling command button to proceed (or
the CANCEL Scheduling to abort). Observe the 'Schedule Courses'
table that appears (Fig. 67). All available course sections/segments in
the SIS 2000+ database for the selected period/term/cycle day will be displayed
in the Schedule Courses table. The courses displayed may or may not correspond
to the selected student's course requests.
Each course is identified by its course ID number/section number, followed by it's descriptive title, such as "3231/1--CALCULUS"
Details from the Master Schedule on each course listed are displayed
in the first column as a series of codes and numbers as follows: [Term],
Period - Cycle Day, Cycle Day. For example the code sequence of [YS]1-1,2
would indicate that the course/section is a year in length, available period
1, cycle days 1 & 2. The term code [in brackets] is a user-defined
code established during the set up and configuration of SIS 2000+ using
the Track Editor.
