SIS 2000+ Student Schedule Editor
Sec.
3, Add / Edit / Delete Course Requests
Courses can be scheduled by selecting course requests and then finding an available period to schedule them in or by selecting an available period and finding an available course section to fill that period. This section will explain the first method, using course requests. See Sec.7, "Schedule a Period" for the second method.
The selected student may already have course requests entered into the
SIS 2000+ database through the Course
Request Editor. Pre-existing course requests will appear in the Course
Requests list on the left (Fig. 3). New course requests can be added using
this program without having to revert to the Course Request Editor. However,
before any requested course can be scheduled using this program it must
have been scheduled in the master schedule using the Master
Schedule Editor.
3.1 Add Course Requests
There are two ways to generate course requests in the Student Schedule
Editor: 1) by using a Career Plan or by 2) manually adding individual courses:
Fig. 15
Course requests for the selected student may or may not have already been generated by a previous execution of the Career Plan program via the Career Plan Editor or the Course Request Editor. In any event, a new group of course requests for a specific student can be generated with the Career Plan function in the Student Schedule Editor. As the new course requests are generated, the previous course requests will either remain on the list or be deleted according to the Clear options set in Step. 3.1.1.3.

3.1.1.2 Select a Career Plan from the drop-down list. The student's assigned Plan will be displayed in the field as the default selection. However, this can be changed if so desired.
3.1.1.3 Previous course requests are set to Locked or Unlocked status when they are first generated (Locked is the default status). During the process of generating new course requests via Career Plan, the previous locked requests will remain on the list unless the Clear Locked Requests option is selected in the 'Generate Course Requests' dialog. The previous unlocked course requests will automatically be deleted unless the Clear Unlocked Requests option is deselected. Select or deselect the Allow Duplicate Requests option depending on district scheduling policy. Duplicate requests are sometimes allowed when there are courses that a student will take more than once during a school year, such as teacher's aide courses, etc.
3.1.1.4 Click on Generate to begin the process, or Cancel to abort. In this application, new course requests will be generated for the selected student only. The course requests will appear in red font in the Course Requests list on the left side. Previous requests, either locked or unlocked will be removed if their Clear option was selected in Step 3.1.1.3.
3.1.15 Save the new course requests by clicking the Save button.
See Career Plan Editor
