Sec. 3, Add / Edit / Delete Course Requests

Courses can be scheduled by selecting course requests and then finding an available period to schedule them in or by selecting an available period and finding an available course section to fill that period. This section will explain the first method, using course requests. See Sec.7, "Schedule a Period" for the second method.

The selected student may already have course requests entered into the SIS 2000+ database through the Course Request Editor. Pre-existing course requests will appear in the Course Requests list on the left (Fig. 3). New course requests can be added using this program without having to revert to the Course Request Editor. However, before any requested course can be scheduled using this program it must have been scheduled in the master schedule using the Master Schedule Editor.

3.1 Add Course Requests
There are two ways to generate course requests in the Student Schedule Editor: 1) by using a Career Plan or by 2) manually adding individual courses:

3.2 Edit an unscheduled course request
The attributes of unscheduled course requests may be edited. Attributes of scheduled course requests cannot be edited. Unscheduled course requests appear in red font. Highlight an unscheduled course request until the whole field turns yellow (Fig. 24). Then right click on the target cell with the mouse or click on the Edit command button to bring up the 'Course Request Add/Edit' dialog (Fig. 22). Edit attributes, as necessary (see Step 3.1.2.2). Click on Save to confirm, or Done to exit the dialog without saving.

3.3 Delete an unscheduled course request
Unscheduled course requests appear in red font. Highlight the course request to be deleted until the whole field turns yellow (Fig. 24). Click on the Delete button. Answer "Yes" to confirm, or "No" to abort the deletion.

Note: Course requests that have been scheduled cannot be deleted in the Course Requests list. In order to delete a scheduled course request, it must first be unscheduled. (See Sec.5, Unschedule a Course)

3.4 Save data
All activities in Student Schedule Editor are only temporary until a final save is executed. Click on the Save command button to post the new data, or Quit to exit without saving.
