SIS 2000+ Master Schedule Editor
Sec.
8, Delete or Edit Sections
8.1 Delete (unschedule) a scheduled section
The delete procedure can only be executed in the 'Show by Faculty'
screen. Deleting a course section in the Master Schedule grid is also called
"unscheduling". Normally, unscheduling is used during the initial design
stages of the Master Schedule as design tool. It is much more complicated
to unschedule a course section once the school year has started because
sections cannot be deleted if there are any students scheduled in the section.

With the focus on the target course section, click on the Delete command button. If the section to delete is a segment of a section that has other segments, a prompt will appear (Fig. 30).

Here, the user must decide if only the selected meeting (segment) is to be unscheduled or the entire section (all meetings) is to be unscheduled. Making the appropriate selection in one of the two radio buttons and then click on the Unschedule command button to proceed.
8.2.4 Confirm deletion

8.2.5 Delete student schedule records, if necessary
A course section cannot be deleted if there are any students scheduled
for it, past, present or future. If this is the case, an error message
will appear after the Delete command button is executed (Fig. 32).
Fig. 32
The students who have schedule records for the section will be listed
along with their Entry/Exit dates. Take note of the information. Click
"OK" to cancel the message. In order to unschedule this course section
from the Master Schedule, all of the affiliated student schedule records
must be deleted entirely. Go to the Student Schedule Editor application
to delete the student schedule records belonging to the target course section
and then return to the Master Schedule Editor and re-try the Delete procedure.
For instructions on deleting student schedule records see Student Schedule
Editor, Sec. 5, Step 5.4
8.2.6 View results of deletion
The view will return to the schedule grid. Successfully deleted course
sections will have been removed (unscheduled) from the cells in the grid.
