Sec. 7, View Master Schedule

All scheduling is done in the 'Show by Faculty' tab. However, the results of the scheduling process can be viewed from two other perspectives: Show by Cycle and Show by Course.

7.1 Show by Cycle
Click on the 'Show by Cycle' tab to bring it to the front (Fig.28). Select a Track, Term, and Cycle Day to view.

The table displays a list of teachers on the left with the periods as columns to the right. The classes (sections) scheduled are indicated by course identification numbers (appended by hyphenated section numbers) and course descriptions (not visible in sample illustrations) appearing in the cells in the grid. For easier viewing, the column widths may be adjusted using the mouse. Course/section/segment information of the highlighted cell is displayed in the information field directly above the table.

Remember that a cell containing more than one section (concurrent sections) will be displayed in red font. The entire list of concurrent sections scheduled in a cell can be viewed as a drop-down list by highlighting the cell and then clicking its field button (Fig. 26), or by highlighting the cell and using the DOWN or UP arrow keys to scroll through the concurrent sections.

As each section in the list is selected, all the essential course/section/segment data will be displayed simultaneously in the information field in the upper right corner of the screen.

Although scheduling cannot be executed by the drag-and-drop or key entry method from this screen, the schedule can be manipulated (with certain restrictions) from this view by using the edit mode. See Sec. 8, "Delete or Edit a Section."

7.2 Show by Course
This view also displays the results of the scheduling done in the 'Show by Faculty' screen, one course at a time. Select a Track and Term to view, then select a Course to view. All scheduled sections of the course will be displayed in the cells of the grid which represent a period and cycle day. For easier viewing, the column widths may be adjusted using the mouse.
