SIS 2000+ Master Schedule Editor
A course section will likely have more than one meeting time per week. A "segment" is meeting time of a course section, even in cases where there is only one meeting time per week. A course section may meet several times a week in the same period but on a different cycle day or may meet several times in a different period, same cycle day. The former case would be, for example, when a teacher teaches the same class to the same group of students during all cycle days in the week; each meeting time will be considered a segment of the course section. The latter case would be, for example, if one teacher's section needed to be divided between two periods in the same day; each period's meeting time would be considered a segment of the same course section. Scheduled segments of the same course section will all have the same course ID number and section number.
Important:
Segments can only be created using the drag-and-drop method, including
the shortcut procedure outlined in Sec. 5. Adding segments via the key
entry method is not possible.
4.1 Drag-and-Drop
After scheduling the first cycle day of any course section, drag-and-drop
the same course onto the cell for another cycle day/same period or onto
another period/same cycle day (Fig. 18). This action causes the program
to prepare for the creation of a segment.

4.2 Confirm adding of segment
The 'Add New' dialog (Fig. 19) will appear whenever a course is dropped
on a Master Schedule where a scheduled section already exists for that
course in the selected track. Confirm the intention of adding a segment
(instead of adding a new section) by selecting the root course section
form the Existing Sections list on the left. Then click the Add
Segment command button. A segment will be added to the existing course
section that was selected as the root.

Note:
The user may opt to create a new section at this time,
instead of a segment, by clicking on the Add New Section command
button. In this case, see Step. 3.1, "Schedule Classes/DRAG-AND-DROP SCHEDULING:"

4.3 Repeat
Repeat Steps 4.1 - 4.2 to create more segments, one cell at a time,
or use the shortcut procedure in Step 5 to schedule all cycle days of the
target period simultaneously.
