SIS 2000+ Schedule Change History Editor

Last update: 09/02/2000 jmm

This program edits student schedule records. However, there is no Add or Delete commands in this application. Creating individual student schedules is done via the Student Schedule Assignment, Student Schedule Editor, or the Student Loader programs. When a course is scheduled in one of these programs, a new schedule record is created with an Entry Date and Entry Code assigned. When a course is completed, dropped, withdrawn, exited, etc., an Exit Date and Exit Code is generated for the schedule record.

Entry and Exit dates must be maintained with accuracy for the proper functioning of Attendance and Report Card programs, yet, if there is an error, these dates cannot be changed within the original generating applications mentioned. The Schedule Change History Editor program can be used to edit the Entry Date, Exit Date, Entry Code, and Exit Code of a schedule record.

1. Opening the Schedule Change History Editor
From the SIS 2000+ Main Menu click on the Schedule icon button. From the Schedule Menu click on the Change History icon button.

2. Find a student
Use the List command button to open an alphabetical list of all students in the currently logged on school within the Group selected in the Student Banner. Or use the Find command to enter a search string composed of any portion of the Student ID#, Last Name, First Name, Grade, Birthdate, or Social Security number. See Student Banner for more information on finding a student record.

3. Activate the edit mode
Click on the Edit command button to activate the edit mode; indicated when the Entry Date, Entry Code, Exit Date, and Exit Code fields turn from gray to white.

4. Modify and save data
Use the Tab key to move from field to field. Modify data. Click on the Save command to save the changes or Undo to exit the edit mode without saving changes.

Remember that date ranges of schedule records of the same course section cannot overlap. If overlapping dates exist, the user cannot use the Save command.

This type of error message will occur when there are two or more schedule records of the same course section with overlapping date ranges. Click "Yes" to continue to the edit mode (or "No" to exit the error message and return to the read-only mode). If "Yes", correct the date ranges in conflict and execute the Save command.
