SIS 2000+ Mark Reporting
Make sure the three tables have been set up in the Table Editor (Step 1)
before continuing with the following steps. The table setup is absolutely
necessary before Mark Reporting applications can be used. In the Steps
2-6 that follow, there are five more setup procedures that need to be completed.
They are used to define the Timeline, define the Mark Definitions, assign
Mark Definitions to tracks, define what the values of the Mark Sets will
be, and define what comments will be used on the Report Cards.
Timeline is the first of the Mark Reporting setup applications that needs to be completed. When going through this application keep the "Virtual Timeline" in mind (Fig. 11), as described in the Introduction, but follow your own Timeline created on paper (Timeline Worksheet) to create the actual Mark Reporting Timeline for your school.

2.1 Open the Timeline Application
Click on the Timeline icon button in the Mark Reporting Menu to open
the Mark Reporting Timeline screen (Fig. 12).

2.2 Activate the edit mode
Click on the Edit command button to activate the edit mode, signified when the Add Point, Edit Point, and Delete Point command buttons turn from gray to blue (Fig. 13).

2.3 Add Timeline Points

2.3.2 Enter a Description
Enter the name of the point to be defined. The first Timeline point
defined will default to a Seq(uence) number of "001". The second
point defined will default to "002", and so on. Although these sequence
numbers cannot be changed in the Add mode or the Entry mode, they can be
changed later using the reorder procedure (Step 2.7).
2.3.3 Save a Point
Click on the Save Point command button to save the defined Timeline
Point, or Undo to cancel.
2.3.4 Repeat
Repeat Steps above to continue building the Timeline.

2.4.2 Exit the edit mode (optional)
Click on the Done command button to exit the edit mode, if applicable,
or continue in the edit mode with the steps that follow for editing, deleting,
or reordering points.
2.5.2 Select a Point to edit
Select a point in the list to edit until it is highlighted in gray
(Fig.15)
2.5.3 Click on the Edit Point command button to open the Edit Timeline Point dialog box (Fig. 16).

2.5.4 Edit and Save
After making changes in the Description field, click on the
Save Point command button to save, or Undo to cancel changes.
2.5.5 View the Timeline
After editing is saved the view will revert to the Timeline in the
edit mode. The changes will be reflected in the list.
2.5.6 Save the Timeline
If all is satisfactory, click on the Save command button to
save the Timeline, or Undo to cancel all changes since the last
save. After a Timeline has been saved successfully, the Save command
button will become inactivated.
2.5.7 Exit the edit mode (optional)
Click on the Done command button to exit the edit mode, if applicable,
or continue in the edit mode with the steps that follow for deleting or
reordering points.
2.6.2 Select a Point to delete
Select a point to delete until it is highlighted in gray.
2.6.3 Click on the Delete Point command button.
In the dialog box that appears (Fig. 17) answer "Yes" to confirm deletion or "No" to abort.

Possible Error Message (Fig. 18): The following error message will occur if the point to be deleted is referenced by another application, indicating that the point cannot be deleted. Click on "OK" to revert to the Timeline in the edit mode.

The sequence of the Timeline points is indicated by the Sequence numbers in the left column of the list, such as, "001", "002", "003", etc. The sequence can be changed by moving entries to different positions on the list via the mover bar.
2.7.2 Select an entry to move
Using the mouse, click on the mover bar of an entry to be moved until
the line is highlighted in gray and the mover bar displays small, black,
up & down arrows.
2.7.3 Drag and Drop
Drag and drop the entry to a different position in the list. The line
entry that was dropped will replace the Sequence position of point were
it was dropped and all other entries will be shifted down in sequence accordingly.
2.7.4 Save reordered Timeline
If all is satisfactory, click on the Save command button to
save the reordered Timeline, or Undo to cancel changes.
