Step 7, Define Report Card Comments

Short, predefined comments can be included on report cards on a per student basis during the Mark Entry procedures. Report Card Comments are used to save data entry time when creating individual report cards. In this step, the Report Card Comments Editor is used to define these comments.

7.1 Open Report Card Comments Editor
From the Mark Reporting Menu click on the Comments icon button. The Report Card Comments Editor (Fig. 71) will display a list of existing comments sorted in the order they were added.

7.2 Select a Language
Comments are grouped by language. Select a language from the drop-down list in the Language field.

7.3 Add a Comment
Click on the Add command button to open the 'Add Report Card Comment' dialog box (Fig. 72). Enter a user defined Code and a short comment in the Description field. Click on the Done command button to save the comment, or Cancel to abort.

7.4 Edit / Delete a Comment
Comments may be edited or deleted by first selecting an entry from the list and then clicking on the Edit or Delete command buttons.

7.5 Print a Comments Legend
A legend of all defined report card comment codes and their descriptions can be printed by means of a standard SIS 2000+ report. This printout comes in handy for teachers who are entering bubbled comment numbers in Mark Reporting scan forms.

See "Reports & Reporting/Mark Reporting/Report Card Comment Listing" for further details.
