SIS 2000+ Gradebook
Gradebook setup elements and their attributes may be copied from one
class to another. The most common example of this would be a teacher copying
the setup of one course section to another section of the same course.
This promotes consistency and saves time. Setups can also be copied to
other courses taught by the same teacher or between classes taught by different
teachers. All setup elements along with their attributes can be copied
together or only specific elements may be copied.
3.1 Open the Copy dialog screen
Click on the Copy command button at the bottom of the Setup
form.
Fig. 36
The Copy dialog screen (Fig. 36) is split into two identical halves.
The left side is the source ("From") class and the right side is the destination
("To") class. In the default view both the "From" and "To" sides start
out the same, according to what Track, Term, and Class were selected before
the Copy command button was executed. The lists display the hierarchical
structure of each class's setup elements: Subject > Category > Tasks.
If there is more than one Subject defined for a class, the Subjects will
be separated by a horizontal line.
3.2 Select "From" data
The Track, Term, and Class data may be edited
in the "From" side by changing the selections in the drop-down fields.
The "From" Faculty may also be changed by executing the Find
command button at the bottom of the Copy dialog screen.
3.3 Set "To" data
Assuming the "From" parameters are set for the desired data to be copied,
in a simple copy between two different sections of the same course/same
teacher, all that needs to be done is to select the destination class (course
section) on the "To" side by choosing from a drop-down list in the Class
Description field (Fig. 37). In the example below (Figs. 37 & 38),
the destination class is being changed from the default "Creative Writing,
Section 1" to "Creative Writing, Section 2". If the destination class has
no previous setup elements defined, the right side list will turn blank.

| Although the Class Description of the destination teacher can be changed, the "To" Faculty will always be the logged on teacher. The logged on teacher cannot be changed for copying purposes unless the user has Site Administrator status, and then only by exiting the Copy screen and using the Find command on the Main Form (see Step 2.1). After the logged on teacher is changed on the Main Form, return to the Copy dialog screen to continue. |
3.4 Execute a Copy
| Note:
Gradebook elements can only be copied from the "From" (source) side to the "To" (destination) side. Elements cannot be copied in the reverse direction, i.e., from the destination class to the source class. |
3.4.1 Click on the double right arrow button to copy all setup elements and their attributes from the "From" class to the "To" class. In this example, all setup elements from course section EA21-1 were copied to course section EA21-2 (Figs. 38 & 39).
