Quick Reference Guide Rates 9 - How to Change a Sales Tax Rate

Add a new tax rate, expire previous tax rate

1. Run Food Service Rates
2. Open the File menu and select Sales Tax Rates
3. From Sales Tax Rates, click on the drop down list box and select the Tax Type
4. Click on the Edit button

Edit an Existing Tax Rate to correct a data entry error -

1. Select the tax rate and retype the information (an existing rate should be edited only to correct a data entry error)
2. Save and Done
3. Reprint reports, if necessary

Change a Tax Rate (a new rate is replacing the current tax rate) -

1. Close the current tax rate by assigning an Expire Date
2. Click on the Add button to activate a new Tax Rate row
3. Complete the Tax Rate (decimal to six places)
4. Complete the Effective and Expire dates for the new rate
5. Save and Done
