Sec. 15, POS Designer / Introduction

The POS Designer constructs the appearance of the POS screen as used in the Cafeteria module. The POS Designer also contains the Cash Drawer Editor.

15.1 Open the POS Designer
Click on the POS Designer button from the main SIS 2000+ Food Services menu. The POS Designer screen displays in read-only mode (Fig. 1), displaying the first POS configuration present in the Designer. When the user is logged into a specific school site, that site displays read-only in the School text field, restricting POS displays to that site. When user login to the District Office is completed under System Administrator status, the School field is active and POS Sites may be created for all schools in the district, including the District Office.

15.2 About the POS Designer screen
The POS Designer screen sets the School, Meal and Description for this POS display layout. The display template pages are used for button placement and appearance. Button Properties display the food Item and button Captions for the selected button. The Page Captions are text fields for user-defined page tab headings. Command buttons are located at the bottom of the screen.

15.3 Button Design layout
The button layout portion of the POS Designer is the drawing board where the appearance of the Cafeteria module is designed for each type of food line. Item buttons may be inserted and then moved to any location on the page. The color, text and 3-d appearance of each button is customizable.

The finished button layout as viewed in the Designer controls the appearance of the buttons in the Cafeteria screen when that POS Site layout is selected during Cafeteria login.
