13b, Cafeteria Settings / Preferences Editor
The behavior of the Cafeteria module for each food line is determined by the Settings. The Settings menu contains the Preferences Editor for Cafeteria Audio, Policies and Workstation Settings for this cash drawer and Meal. Options may be turned on or off to adjust the performance of the Cafeteria module to meet the requirements of each food line **. Settings are associated with the Cash Drawer selected during Cafeteria login, and are unique for each Drawer. Settings may be changed at any time, including during line entry. Preference values may be available for editing at the cash drawer level (see Sec. 13b, Settings Editor), or may be controlled at a higher level (see Sec. 3, Preferences Manager).

Fig. 7 - Low Balance Alarm Values
When an account balance reaches the minimum amount (specified by the setting, and based upon the account balance divided by the meal cost for this person), an alert notifies that there is '1' (or 2, 3 etc.) meals remaining for this account (Fig. 6). The Low Balance Alarm does not apply to free students.

13b.3 Alert screens - Customized vs. Database-wide Restrictions
A Customized Restriction or Alert for a consumer may be identified in the food line by the appearance of the alert screen. The difference is discreet to avoid publicly identifying an individual as having special circumstances. Observe the icons in the upper left corner - the addition of a 'person' icon indicates this consumer has triggered a customized restriction or alert.
The absence of a 'person' icon indicates this consumer has triggered a global, or database-wide restriction or alert.
