Sec. 12a, Enter Payments

The Payments entry screen is designed for 10-key speed entry. Following login, the Payments screen displays in active mode with the focus on the Account text field and the account type defaulted to Student (since Student will be the most frequently used account type). At this point you may scan Student, Faculty or Patron barcodes or manually enter Student ID numbers. Account type must be set to Faculty or Patron before manual entry of those ID numbers.

If you are identifying accounts manually and the consumer ID number is not known, the Search utility may be used to locate an account, district-wide if necessary (assuming a district-wide network is in place). District-wide search is available if SIS 2000+ System login was done under System Administrator status and initial login was at the district level. Otherwise, consumer search is limited to the school.

Payment records are date-driven and stored in Accounts based upon the date selected during Payments login (Sec. 6b, Accounts Payments tab). Always verify the date is correct for this run of payments entry. The date by which payments are recorded may be changed after login by clicking on Date, Payments Menu bar, and using the Date Calendar to change the date. An account may contain multiple payment records for a single day.

SIS 2000+ Payments is designed to process account payments on a volume basis. Payments may also be recorded while processing a food line transaction, or by editing an Account (Account Payments page).
