Sec. 11b, Free / Reduced Student Patrons

Accounts for Temporary Student and Off-site Student Patrons include an Account Status page with a default "Paid" status record, effective as of the date the patron record was completed.  This default "Paid" status must be changed for Free and Reduced Student Patrons. Accounts for other patron types do not include a Status page.

11b.1 Adjust Default "Paid" Status for Free/Reduced Student Patrons

  1. Open Food Service Accounts and select Patron Accounts.  See Sec. 6h, Patron Accounts.
  2. Click on Find to search for and locate the specific Patron.
  3. Click on Edit to place the account into edit mode.
  4. Click on the "Paid" Pay type to open the list.  Select the correct pay type.
  5. Save

Meals served to this student patron will be recorded under this pay type as of the Effective Date.  Existing meals within this date range will be adjusted to conform to the correct pay type.  If meal adjustments occur, an audit log is created with an optional user note field for explanations.  The audit log is displayed when the adjustments occur (changes are saved).  Double-click on the Adj. pencil to view at any time.

11b.2 Maintaining Student Patron Pay types
Since Student Patron pay types are not generated by an application, standard manual maintenance procedures must be followed if a change in pay type occurs. See Sec. 6a.2, Account Status Records.

  1. Locate the Student Patron Account and place into edit mode.  The Status page should be active (in front)
  2. Select the current status record and enter an Expiration date for the last day this pay type is in effect.
  3. Click on the Add button.  A new status record is inserted with an Effective date incremented one day after the expiration of the previous status.
  4. Select the new Pay type.  The Expiration date may be left open for the new, current Pay type.
  5. Save
The Food Service Preference Eligibility = ONLINE / OFFLINE does not apply to Student Patron Status records.  Student Patron Account Status records are maintained manually.
