Sec. 6d, Accounts / Account Ala Carte Records
 

The ala Carte page contains ala Carte service records for current consumer. An ala Carte record consists of Location, Date, Meal under which it was served, the Cash Drawer used to process the transaction, the Item, and the item Amount. Total dollar value of ala Carte service is displayed in the ala Carte field at the bottom of the screen.
 

6d.1 View Ala Carte Records / Adjust Display
Move to the' ala Carte' page by clicking on the page tab or by using the Page Up/Page Down keys. Current Sort method (ascending or descending) is displayed at the top of the page, and may be changed by clicking in a column header.  Ala Carte transactions for Today's Date are displayed in red.

6d.2 Edit Ala Carte Records
Click on the Edit button to place this account into edit mode (Fig. 2). Edit mode enables the ala Carte page command buttons Add and Delete, and the Account command buttons Done and Quit.

6d.2.1 Edit an Ala Carte Record
Select a record, then use the Edit button to open the Edit Student (or Faculty/Patron/Cash/Visitor) ala Carte Record screen (or double-click anywhere on a record to select it and open the edit screen). The Meal, School, Drawer and Item fields may be changed by clicking on the drop down list boxes and clicking on a different selection (see following for field information). Retype the Date if necessary.

About the Edit ala Carte Record screen -
Text fields and drop down list boxes
 

Date -
Focus defaults to the Date field, which defaults to Today's Date. Accept by pressing Enter, or re-type date (forward slashes and first two digits of year are supplied automatically) and press Enter or Tab to move to the Meal field.

Meal -
Breakfast or Lunch ala Carte item. Click on the drop down list box to change.

Cons type -
Consumer type. Read-only field determined by this account type.

School -
Determined by user-login.

Drawer -
Cash Drawers available for this School.

Item -
The ala Carte item served. Click on the drop down list to display items that are available for this date and for this consumer type.

Qty -
Read-only field defaults to Quantity '1'.

Amount -
Read-only field. Amount is determined by which item is selected. Item price is set in Food Service Items (Se. 5a).
 

Edit ala Carte Record -
Command buttons
  Delete -
Use Delete button to remove this ala Carte record.

Save -
Use Save button to record changes made to this ala Carte record.

Cancel -
Use Cancel to discard changes to this record and close Edit ala Carte Records.

 

6d.3 Add an Ala Carte Record
Click on the Add button to open the Edit Student (or Faculty Patron Cash or Visitor) ala Carte Record screen. Default setting are present for each field. Move to each field and change as necessary for the new record. Click on Save to record the new item. Click on Cancel to abort entry for the new item.

6d.4 Delete an Ala Carte Record
Two methods may be used to delete an ala Carte record.

  1. Select a record by clicking on the far left border of the record. A record marker shows the currently selected record. Click on the Account Meals Delete button. Select 'Yes', to delete that meal record, 'No' to abort from the confirmation prompt.
  2. Click on any field in the ala Carte record to open the Edit ala Carte Record screen. Select 'Yes' to delete that meal record, 'No' to abort from the confirmation prompt.
