SIS 2000+ Food Services
Sales taxes may be assessed and reported on sales of Meal Items and ala Carte items made to specific Consumer Types (Student, Faculty, Adult Visitor, Child Visitor). Multiple tax rates may be used. Change records with effective and expire dates are stored for each sales tax rate. Reports reference these change records to determine the tax rate in effect as of the report date range. The Sales Tax Payable Report itemizes total sales per taxable category, total tax due per category, total tax due per sales tax Type, and total Sales Tax Due for a user-defined report date range. Tax parameters may be left unset if sales tax is not assessed on sales of food items. The following steps must be completed to collect and report sales tax:
4c.1 Set Sales Tax Types
Sales Tax Types are not Food Service specific, since if
sales tax is applicable, items in addition to food items may be taxed.
Sales Tax Types are set and edited from within the Table Editor,
located in the SIS 2000+ System menu. Locate the Sales Tax table
by clicking on the Table drop down list box, and verify that correct
tax Types are present.
