Sec. 5, Multiple (Dual) Enrollment

A student may be approved to enroll part-time at another school site within the district other than his/her home school. When a student is enrolled in more than one school site simultaneously, it is called multiple or dual enrollment. One school site is designated as the primary site (home school) and the other school is designated as the part-time site. As a result, the student will have more than one open status record. However, most all SIS 2000+ procedures for student who has multiple enrollment will be carried out from his/her primary site records.

To accomplish multiple enrollment in SIS 2000+, special procedures must be executed in the Student Editor. The following steps will address setting up multiple enrollment for a currently enrolled student. A new student may be set up for multiple enrollment using very similar procedures. Procedures for a new student will be mentioned at the end of this section.

5.1 Find a student

5.1.1 Login to the home school of the currently enrolled target student.

5.1.2 Open the Student Editor and find the student's record.

5.2 Change status of an enrolled student
Before the SIS 2000+ program will allow multiple enrollment, the enrollment status of the selected student must be changed in order to designate the home school site as the "Primary site of multiple sites" or the equivalent: "Dual Enrollment". This will be done using the Change Status procedure which will close the current status record and create a new status record. This procedure applies only to students who are already enrolled in the district. To configure a new student for multiple enrollment, go to Step 5.6.

5.2.1 Find a student

5.2.2 Go to the 'General' information screen (Fig. 65).

5.2.4 Click Edit then double click the highlighted status line
The 'Edit Status’ screen is displayed (Fig. 66). This screen is used for editing a student status record.
