Section 8, Technical Setup

Before the Attendance system can be implemented, several areas of SIS 2000+ must be configured:

  1. Attendance Code Tables

  2. There are several code tables in the system that must be configured for use with the SIS 2000+ Attendance module. The tables are installed with default information, but they will be customized by the system administrator during the installation of SIS 2000+ to accurately reflect the requirements of the school district. Attendance codes must be defined to specify the type of attendance and the related ADA calculations. Most of these definitions may be changed with the Table Editor, located in the System area of the SIS 2000+ Shell. There are three main Attendance tables:
  3. The Track Calendar must be defined for the current school year so that valid attendance days are specified. See Track Editor.
  4. Faculty information -

  5. All teachers who will be teaching courses that require attendance data must be entered into the Faculty Editor and assigned to a track. Teachers need the 'Teacher' flag checked in their status record.
  6. Master Schedule of classes must de created for all faculty members in the track See Master Schedule Editor.
  7. Class Sections in the Master Schedule must be specified that attendance is taken.
  8. Student information -

  9. Each student must be enrolled in the target attendance track via the Student Editor application.
  10. Students must be scheduled -

  11. Students are scheduled in several possible ways: For elementary schools use the Student Schedule Assignment application. For secondary schools see the Student Loader program.
