Section 1, Introduction
Click on the Attendance icon button in the SIS 2000+ Main Menu to access the
Attendance Menu (Fig. 1). The SIS 2000+ Attendance module is comprised of
several individual programs working in conjunction with one another and with an
SQL database to provide an easy-to-use interface for tracking student
attendance. There are three main methods of taking attendance (Rapid Entry,
Class Entry, and Phone Log). Schools may use only one method or a combination of
methods, depending on the technology available in the school.

Fig. 1
- Rapid Entry
This is an interface to allow attendance clerks to rapidly enter
attendance data using only the ten-key pad. Attendance data is entered on a
per student or per group basis.
- Phone Log Entry
This interface is specifically designed to record absences reported by
telephone from the parent, guardian, or contact of a student. It allows
attendance codes to be bulk-assigned to a single day or a range of days for a
selected student.
- Class Entry
A quick method for the classroom teacher to bring up their class roster
on a computer terminal and take attendance for the day or period. When the
roster is brought up; it defaults to the logged in teacher and the current
period.
- Student History
A spreadsheet-style grid for viewing, editing, or printing all of the
attendance data for an individual student during a specified term.
- Reports
A variety of attendance reports are available. Some reports are generic so
that they may be useful in any state. Others are specifically designed for the
ADA, ADM, and FTE requirements of Utah.
