Step 1, Set Up Tables

Before using the Requirements Editor, set up two tables in the Table Editor under the System Menu. The tables are Eligibility Rule Types (zerultyp) and Graduation Requirements Codes (zgradreq). These two tables are defined below.

1.1 Open Table Editor
The Table Editor program is found in the System Menu. See Table Editor for general procedures on setting up tables in SIS 2000+.

1.2 Define Eligibility Rule Types (zerultyp)
The first table to set-up is the Eligibility Rule Types table (Fig. 1). This table holds the codes for each type of requirement that is supported by the Requirements application. The "Graduation Requirements" rule type will have been defined during the installation and configuration of SIS 2000+. If it is not yet defined, proceed as follows:

1.3 Define Graduation Requirements Codes (zgradreq)
This table (Fig. 2) is where you name the different types of Graduation Requirements that students will be expected to meet in order to be eligible for graduation. These requirements will be linked to students through the Student Editor. At some schools this will be a listing of the possible diplomas that can be earned.
