Utah Principals Academy seeks applicants for the position of Director for the year 2001-2002. Utah Principals Academy has as its mission the development and enhancement of leadership skills for practicing Utah administrators so as to provide the most effective principals possible for Utah public schools. Responsibilities of the Director include:

When selected, the Director for 2001-2002 becomes the Director-Elect for the year 2000-2001. As Director-Elect, the principal remains in his/her assigned school as principal. But, the Director-Elect is invited by the Director to become involved in as many facets of the Academy as possible.

On July 1, the Director-Elect becomes the Director. This is a full time position requiring leave from the district with an agreement from the district to return to the position, which was vacated during the leave. The Utah State Office of Education reimburses the local district for salary and benefits. Other items such as housing or travel are negotiated as needed.

Application for position of Director for the year 2001-2002 will be accepted from a currently practicing principal who has been a Fellow in Utah Principals Academy. The following criteria are considered in the selection of the Director:
