Teacher Adademy
The Utah Academy of Teachers is a collaborative effort of the Utah State Office of Education, U.S. Department of Education, school districts, universities and education associations. Davis, Granite, Jordan and Washington school districts offer academies for elementary and secondary language arts and social studies teachers. The Teacher Academies provide a powerful professional development opportunity for teachers who have the potential to become exemplary educators. During the Academy, teachers receive rigorous content and hands-on instruction that will dramatically impact student learning and provide a variety of professional development experiences designed to enhance teacher quality and reflection. Teachers receive USOE credit or university credit and a stipend for successfully completing the Academy work. Over 800 Utah teachers have participated in the Academies.
