Adult Education Students and GED Outcomes
Persons, who took and passed the GED Tests prior to January 1, 2002, may enroll in an adult education program now and in the future to complete a Carnegie unit Adult Education Secondary Diploma as defined in Board rule R277-733-Adult Education Programs.
Persons, who took and passed the GED Tests between January 1, 2002 and June 30, 2009, may apply for a Utah High School Completion Diploma replacing the originally issued State Board of Education GED Test Certificate.
Persons, who took and passed the GED Tests between January 1, 2002 and June 30, 2009, may enroll in an adult education program and complete the academic requirements necessary for a Carnegie unit Adult Education Secondary Diploma.
Persons enrolled in an adult education program at any time prior to July 1, 2009, and the GED outcomes were transcribed as credit on their student transcript before July 1, 2009, the academic credit may be applied towards meeting the graduation requirements necessary for an Adult Education Secondary Diploma.
Persons, who successfully pass the GED Tests, who are academically test below the 12.9 grade level in reading, math or English, may enter or continue to receive literacy instruction through an adult education program in the deficit area(s). However, they are not eligible to peruse academic credit generating courses.
