ParentsEmpowered.org is a media and education campaign funded by the Utah Legislature and designed to prevent and reduce underage drinking in Utah by providing parents and guardians with information about the harmful effects of alcohol on the developing teen brain, along with proven skills for preventing underage alcohol use.
Preschool Pioneer Library is an online collection of high quality educational resources modeled after the very successful Pioneer Online Library for K-12, college, and public library patrons.
The NetSafe Utah project’s purpose is to inform, educate, and empower parents and kids on how to be safe when using the Internet. A variety of materials have been created since the inception of this project including, a 1-hour television program which has been aired on KUED Channel-7 and UEN-TV Channel-9, a parent packet containing informational handouts, a leader’s toolkit designed to assist Utah’s schools with a library of information to present on Internet safety, and a web site with numerous links. In addition, this project has taken the message of Internet safety in a face-to-face presentation format statewide to parents, children, teachers, and students.
The NetSmartz Workshop is an interactive, educational safety resource from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) for children aged 5 to 17, parents, guardians, educators, and law enforcement that uses age-appropriate, 3-D activities to teach children how to stay safer on the Internet.
