The History Teacher of the Year Award

Every year the GIlder Lehrman Institute of American History, in conjunction with Preserve America, a program sponsored by the White House, sponsors the History Teacher of the Year Award. Below is First Lady Laura Bush with state coordinators of the program, just prior to the awards ceremony for the 2005 national winner.

Last year's Utah winner was Heidi Ross of Tooele School District.

Here she is with the giant check for $1,000 awarded as part of the prize.
