CONNECTION
TOPIC - EARTH'S ATMOSPHERIC
SYSTEMS
STANDARD 3600-02
- Students will analyze the relationship between the
sun's energy, the atmosphere, and Earth.
OBJECTIVES
- 3600-0201 Analyze the influence of the sun's energy on the atmosphere.
- Radiation
in the Atmosphere
This site demonstrates how changes in the Earth's atmosphere will affect
the maximum and minimum temperatures locally.
- Professor
Polar Bear
This site has been developed for teachers and students. It contains activities
and lesson plans related to the atmosphere.
- 3600-0202 Using appropriate technology, analyze local
atmospheric systems.
- Project
ATMOSPHERE This site is the American Meteorological Society's education
program to promote the study of the atmosphere in schools. Project Atmosphere
emphasizes the operation of a national network of resource contacts, and
instructional materials.
- The
NOAA Weather Page
This is a very extensive page relating to weather.
- United
States Interactive Climate Pages Provides maps of monthly temperature
and precipitation products from 1895 to the present, also contains a teacher
resource page (under construction).
- KSL Weather
Center - Provides forecasts and current weather radar and Doppler
images.
- 3600-0203 Determine the limitations of science and
technology in predicting and controlling the weather.
STANDARD 3600-03
- Students will analyze the relationships
between the atmosphere and biological systems.
OBJECTIVES
- 3600-0301 Determine the consequences of atmospheric
alteration to biological systems.
- 3600-0302 Predict and illustrate future physical and
biological changes on Earth based on current atmospheric
trends.
- El
Nino Scenario
The information contained on this page provides a wealth of information
about El Nino.
- EPA Global
Warming Site
This site provides information about the problem of global warming and
