Research and Report It

You're the author!

Magnets are a big part of your life and you may not even know it.

Here is your chance to find out more about magnets and have some fun too.

You are going to be an author! Your next assignment is to write a small booklet on the use of a magnet in a tool or machine.

You will need to find out the following:

  • How the magnet is used in the tool or machine?
  • What type of magnet is used?

Make it!

Make a small book out of your choice of paper. Type or neatly write information about the magnet and the machine on the pages. Draw pictures to help explain your work.

Your book should be more than two pages long and have at least five pictures. Be creative!

When you are finished writing, share your book with your friends or parents. Teach them what you have learned about how magnets are used.

Get the plug-ins: Get Adobe Acrobat Reader , and Get Quicktime Player (The QuickTime plug-in is needed to play sounds and movies correctly.)

Want to share photos of you or your friends doing this activity? Send in an e-mail with the following information: the title of the activity, the URL (Internet address), and your name. Remember that no pictures can be used which show any student faces or has a student name.
