WHAT'S THE MATTER?

EVERYTHING! 3050-0401

If you would like to visit the Official Homepage of the Utah Jazz, click on the picture of your favorite Jazz player above!

You name it! From hamburgers to hot-dogs, spice to Spice Girls, or Stockton to Malone, all these things and people and practically everything else in the universe is made of this stuff called matter. In fact, all things are made of matter. Do you know what matter is? You have probably heard the definition from second grade science. Maybe you have even memorized the definition, but do you know what it means? Matter is anything that takes up space and also has mass or weight. Even air is matter. Can you think of a weigh (hint) to determine if air is made of matter?

DO THIS!

Now, this is really one easy assignment! Look at the two pictures of John Stockton and Karl Malone above. List 25 items that are made of matter in the pictures. Do you see anything in either picture that is not made of matter? That is because EVERYTHING that you can see anywhere, at any time, and any place is made of matter!
