Additional Reference/Support Materials
Science Experiments that You Can Eat by Vicky Cobb. Harper Collins, NY, 1994. Available in English or Spanish from the main branch of the Salt Lake City Public Library.
My First Science Book: A Life-size Guide to Simple Experiments by Algela Wilkes. Alfred A. Knopf, NY, 1990. Although this is basically a book for younger children and doesnt contain a lot of explanation about why the experiments work, the pictures are excellent and could be used to help LEP students understand how to do the experiments.
Simple Science Experiments with Everyday Materials by Muriel Mandell. Sterling Publishing Company, NY, 1989. This little book is full of simple, low cost experiments that would adapt well to small group explorations and help reinforce many of the concepts.
