Weather Chart

"Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning. Red sky at night, sailors delight."

Some people are able to look at the sky and make good weather predictions. It is hard to always be correct and to know what the weather will be like for today or for the rest of the week.

Meterologists are able to use computers, weather satellites, radar and many other instruments to make weather forecasts. They often forecast the weather for a week or longer. Many people depend on accurate weather forecasts to plan activities ahead of time.

You can use a chart like the one below to keep track of the weather for several weeks. Use the local radio, TV, newspaper or Internet reports to fill in the data. Compare the predictions you made and those made by the professional weather people. Evaluate how well each group was able to forecast the weather. If you do not know a good Internet Weather Website, try KSL.
