NOTE TO TEACHERS!

INTRODUCTION Fourth Grade Sci-ber Text is an extensive Internet resource for your students. By using this site, they can find information correlating to the Utah Fourth Grade Science Core, related science sites, written assignments, experiments and labs. Sci-ber Text can be used in conjunction with the science core in your classroom, as enrichment, as remediation, and for make up assignments. It is designed to be used in the classroom with teacher supervision, or at home with the supervision of parents. A very important part of making Sci-ber Text a success is by getting the information out to parents. We would appreciate you letting parents know about Sci-ber Text by sending a note home or perhaps mentioning it at parent-teacher conferences. This site, which is full of color and animations, was written to be fourth grader friendly. You will not find the standards and objectives, which may be confusing to the students, on the page. Click on the Fourth Grade Core links throughout the site when you want to refer to them.

IMPORTANT This site is designed to work best with a monitor set to at least 600 pixels wide. You can check the display settings in the "control panel". In order for your students to view all of the "fun stuff" on these pages, you may need to download some plug-ins. A plug-in is a program that your browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, AOL, etc.) uses to view movies and animation. The plug-ins below are free. To download these programs, just click the boxes below and follow the directions for your type of computer and browser. Times for downloading will these programs will vary. You may want to check to see if you have these programs already installed on your computer before downloading. HINT: Be sure that the downloaded files are expanded or unstuffed, and placed in the plug-ins file in your browser folder.
