NOTE TO FOURTH GRADE TEACHERS!

INTRODUCTION The Fourth Grade Sciber Site is an extensive Internet resource for your students. By using this site, they can find a wealth of information relating to the Utah Fourth Grade Science Core, other related sites, written assignments, and experiments and labs. This site was also written to incorporate the social studies "Asian" theme. You will find many references to Asia within this site. This site can be used in conjunction with the science and social studies core in the classroom, as enrichment, remediation, and for make up assignments. It is designed to be used in the classroom and at home with the supervision of parents. Of course getting the word out to parents is a very important part of making this site a success. We would appreciate you letting parents know about this site by sending a note home or perhaps mentioning it at parent-teacher conferences. This site, which is full of color and cartoons, was written to be fourth grader friendly. You will not find the standards and objectives, which may be confusing to the students, directly on the page. They can be found by clicking the number beside the title of each page. Also, please note that some standards have been combined into one unit because it made sense to present it that way.

IMPORTANT In order for your students to view all of the "fun stuff" on these pages, you may need to download some plug-ins. A plug-in is a program that your browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, AOL, etc.) uses to view movies and animation. The plug-ins below are free and may be used with other programs and sites as well. To download these programs, just click the boxes below and follow the directions for your type of computer and browser. Times for downloading will these programs will vary. You may want to check to see if you have these programs already installed on your computer before downloading.
