Science Language Students Should Know and Use

Cyclone
A very, very strong wind like a tornado
Debris
Materials left behind or created during a storm or strong wind-such as garbage
Direction
The path that something follows
Distance
The space between two places
Dribble
A basketball term referring to bouncing a ball
Experiment
Something that is performed to prove or disprove an idea
Force
A push or pull
Hypothesis
A guess based on what you know
Momentum
The building up of something to produce movement
Motion
A change of position
Ruffle
To stir up
Simple machine
A lever, inclined plane, or pulley
Speed
How fast or slow something is moving
Weight
A measure of the force of gravity on an object
