Funding Opportunities
United States Golf Association
http://www.usga.org/foundation/index.html
Through its grants program, the USGA supports programs and projects that
work to create opportunity in people's lives through participation in the
game of golf. To this end they support introductory junior golf programs for
youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, girls, and minorities as well those who face geographical impediments to playing the game. They also support caddie and occupational programs for youth as well as programs for individuals with disabilities of all ages. In addition to these programming grants they support the construction of affordable and accessible alternative golf facilities designed with the needs of the above mentioned programs in mind. One component that they look for in school-based programs is the opportunity for the children to actually play the game of golf on an ongoing basis either in the program or outside of it. They strongly believe that for a program to have significant impact on youth they need to be able to experience the many facets of the game that can only be experienced through playing. You can find more information about the USGA Grants Program in the Foundation section of their website.
