
Government Scholarships For Summer Study In France, Germany and Spain
Teachers who reside in the SWCOLT region are eligible for a variety of scholarships for summer language study in France, Germany or Spain.
The SWCOLT French Embassy Scholarship is designed for elementary and secondary teachers of French and allows the recipient to attend a three- to four-week seminar in France. It includes the cost of food, lodging, and all activities connected with the seminar, exclusive of transportation to and from the seminar site. The French Embassy will be directly responsible for selecting the individual from SWCOLT.
The SWCOLT Goethe Institute San Francisco Scholarship offers a four-week intensive language course in Germany. The scholarship pays for all tuition, lodging throughout the duration of the course, breakfast and one meal daily during the week, DM 100 per week for additional meals, and medical insurance. Transportation to and from Germany is the responsibility of the recipient.
The Embassy of Spain Scholarship provides teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language the opportunity to study in Spain. The summer courses on Spanish Language and Culture will be held at various universities in Spain for three weeks in July. This program has been developed for teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language. Selection is based on educational background and professional experience. www.spainembedu.org/becas.html
