EDNET Faculty Training Information
EDNET FACULTY TRAINING
Is provided at your schools EDNET facility by the Utah State Office of Educations (USOE) EDNET faculty trainer and Utah Education Networks (UEN) EDNET technical trainer.
Is required of all EDNET distance learning teachers involved with secondary school students as indicated in the Utah Education Networks Handbook for Policies, Procedures, and Operations.
Takes only 20 hours of your time. Teachers will actually prepare, present, and critique their own 7-10 minute mini-lesson over the EDNET distance learning network from their school.
Can earn you twenty hours of USOE relicensure credit as well as a certificate of completion.
Is combined with EDNET technical training. You practice on the same equipment that you will use in your day-to-day teaching.
Provides practice at preparing graphics for the ELMO, using the
microphone, preparing Powerpoint Presentations, teaching with the Internet, and integrating distance learning technologies with your teaching strategies.
Will show techniques for increasing student interactivity and
multimedia teaching in your classes.
Will utilize the manual Preparing Teachers for EDNET Technology to illustrate and practice distance learning techniques.

Stipend Form Ednet Training NEW

This form is to be filled out by Ednet Teachers, Facilitators, Coordinators, or Administrators at the request of the USOE Distance Learning Specialist. It allows those attending Ednet Training activities to receive a modest stipend, provided they are already NOT on the district or college payroll at the time of the training. The form should be given to the USOE Specialist only, at the conclusion of the training activity.

EDNET Satellite Evaluation Form Final 10272006

This procedure should be administered by the EDNET/Satellite facilitator
at the origination site under the direction and permission of the institution's
EDNET Coordinator with permission of the course instructor. The evaluation
should be administered within the last two weeks of the course. Be sure
that there are enough copies of the Course Evaluation Form for the students
at each site. This evaluation should be given ONLY with the permission
of the District EDNET Coordinator AND the permission of the teacher.

The 2006-2007 Ednet Student-Teacher Evaluations are now in. This 48 page pdf document has the results from 118 classroom around the state. Regular high school classes and Concurrent Enrollment classes are represented here. Most of the responses are from 1219. 11th and 12th grade students. A variety of classes are represented—Math, English, ASL, Spanish, Psychology, Theater Arts, Ag Science, Drafting. The names of the teachers have been removed, but t he name of the class, origination and receive site, as well as the sponsoring institution are left intact. These evaluations are not given to administrators unless teachers gives is to them. The only thing different about these classes is the method of distribution—Distance Learning or IVC (Interactive Video Conferencing). This one page instrument is used for students to assess their teacher. It was written by Utah Distance Learning Administrators, who have all taught over Ednet. It is validated and simple to follow. The results are return to the teacher (ONLY) and not to their administrator. It is administered by the local facilitator and mailed to USOE for statistical analysis and transcribing
