Telesyllabus--Distance Education 2006-2007
Welcome to a professional development course contained below. It is called Distance Learning 2006 - 2007. This course has been created as part of the Master's degree program of Instructional Technology at Utah State University and Westminster College. It supports the USOE Distance Learning Endorsement and the Distance Learning Faculty Training Certificate programs as well. Traditionally, this class is taught live, via EDNET and also on the UEN WebCT Learning Management System. Therefore, this class is what is known as "Blended Learning." It is a unique form of distance delivery of professional development for practicing teachers. The student desiring to complete this course of study should contact the instructor, George Miller (george.miller@schools.utah.gov) at the Utah State Office of Education (801-538-7790) before proceeding, especially if you desire to earn college credit and/or the Distance Learning Endorsement.
There are a number of new and relevant documents related to distance education technology and pedagogy that are found within the 14 lessons below—feel free to browse through any of the materials. Also, the Utah Electronic High School has these same materials in the form of a Professional Development Class.
