FALL 2008 BID SCHEDULE

Contract effective date: January, 2009 - December 31, 2013

July 3, 2008 e-postcard Bid Invitation announcing the opening of the Fall 2008 Bid Adoption Cycle will be sent to publishers.

August 1, 2008

 

"Intention to Bid" form (formerly called the publisher cover sheet) will be due to the Utah State Office of Education.

Once we receive your "Intention to Bid" form, we will send you an electronic copy of the bid packet, and the Excel bid sheet. Core alignments still need to be completed for primary materials by "Independent Alignment Vendors."

September 5, 2008

Submission of electronic bids are due to the Utah State Office of Education. Once your bid is entered into our system, you will receive a confirmation email.

September 15 - 19, 2008 Samples are due to the Utah State Office of Education, IMC Commission and the Colleges of Education.
October 1, 2008 Research papers are due. (This is optional.)

October 1, 2008

 

 

 

*As required by law, an independent alignment or correlation of all basal/core/primary materials for all core areas must be sent to the IMC office as well as posted online by the publisher by October 3rd, 2008.

*NOTE: Supplemental materials do not require a core alignment.

October 1 - 31, 2008 Evaluation meetings of Instructional Materials Advisory Committees are conducted.

November 21, 2008

 

The Utah State Instructional Materials Commission Meeting.

The Instructional Materials Commission submits final recommendations to the State Board of Education.

December 12, 2008 The State Board of Education Meeting -- Final approval of recommended material for the Fall 2008 Adoption Cycle.

December 19, 2008

 

Recommended Instructional Materials Database will be updated with new materials and new material will show up on RIMs .

Publishers receive official letters and evaluation reports by email within two weeks of recommendation by State Board.

December 22, 2008 - January 23, 2009 Request for Reconsideration Period (30 days after Board Meeting).
January 1, 2009 NIMAS file sets due to NIMAC.
January 1, 2009 Fall 2008 Contract start. Contracted period: 1/1/09 - 12/31/13.
