Conference Details

Deadlines

Registration: All registrations must be received by October 17 2007. Register early because space is limited. Only Administrators may register for one day.

Lodging: Reserve your room(s) at the hotel immediately to guarantee yourself accommodations. If problems arise, the reservation can be cancelled within the hotel's regulations. Tell the agent you are with the USOE Networking Arts Conference when you ask for the state rate ($65+tax per night).

Each networking participant will choose the artform they will be most responsible for teaching their students how to do. The first day everyone will go to the in-depth session in that chosen artform. The second day everyone will go to the Grad-level session of their choice. The grade level integration sessions are all about using a chosen artform skill/concept as a tool to engage students in learning and/or communicating learning in other subjects.

We encourage principals to ask teachers to select a particular artform for which they will be responsible and for a team that represents all four artforms and come to the conference with a team of teachers excited about giving all their students wonderful and powerful learning experiences in each artform. When teachers work as a team in taking responsibility for specific subjects, it lightens the load by reducing the number of subjects each has to prepare. We want all to consider this approach as circumstances allow, and we understand that teaming is not always possible for everyone.

Challenge American Grants to assist teachers who have never attended Networking, are available through the Utah Arts Council.

Discounts are possible for school teams whose principal comes to the conference. Principals who register with the school team are expected to attend at least one full day (Thursday and/or Friday) and may "float" as desired in and out of the sessions that teachers will be attending. There is a special Administrators session planned for principals and district leaders at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. This is in response to the request by principals in the past who want to attend the teacher's session but wish to have "their own" session as well.

Team discounts are as follows:

  1. A School Team including the principal and up to 7 teachers for $350 (normally $440)
  2. A School Team including the principal and up to 4 teachers for $220 (normally $275)

Cost

Admission: $55.00. Make checks/money orders payable to: UAAHE – (not USOE!). Checks written to USOE will be returned for correction. No refunds after November 10th. Mail check with registration form to:
