Multimedia
Endorsement/SAEP Application - PDF

Minimum Endorsement RequirementsInformation Technology Logo

  • Existing CTE/APP, CTE, or Secondary Education License, and
  • Documented evidence of:
    • Multimedia authoring course (3 credits) or a comprehensive workshop (40 hours)
    • 3D modeling and animation course or workshop (3 credits/40 hours), and
  • Documented evidence of attendance at two (2) or more USOE approved multimedia inservice workshops or college courses totaling at least eighty (80) seat hours or six (6) credits. These elective workshops could include the following:
    • 2D design and/or animation
    • Digital video editing
    • Digital audio editing
    • Digital photography and/or editing
    • Web development
    • Or other related course, and
  • Submission of an CBT or WBT interactive media training project on CD or Web link meeting the following requirements:
    • Interactive multimedia project (menu-driven with forward/back controls) – topic and audience of your choice
    • Original raster graphics
        -Background
        -Buttons
    • Original vector graphics
    • Original 3D graphics
    • Animation, path and/or frame based
    • Scanned graphic with editing changes
    • Captured video with effects and/or titles
    • Captured audio
    • Text relating to the topic
    • Planning documents (story board, etc.)
    • Credits, compliant with fair use and copyright guidelines, and
  • One original unit of instruction in a multimedia or 3D topic (include standards and objectives, presentations, handouts, activities, labs, rubrics, quizzes, tests, projects, etc.)

Minimum SAEP Requirements

  • Existing CTE/APP, CTE, or Secondary Education License, and
  • An assignment that requires the requested endorsement, and
  • Transcripts showing a minimum of six (6) semester hours or eighty (80) hours of workshop credits of completed multimedia courses and a plan to complete the twelve (12) credits or one-hundred sixty (160) hours required, or two (2) years of multimedia work experience, and
  • A plan to complete the interactive media training project on CD, and
  • A plan to complete original unit or instruction in a multimedia topic with related documents.

The Multimedia Endorsement allows an educator to teach the following courses:

  • Multimedia I
  • Multimedia II
  • 3D Graphics and Animation

Complete the following to apply for this endorsement or SAEP:

  • Select the endorsement needed and download the application form.
  • Fill out the form, including university/college course numbers, work experience, and industry certifications, to indicate that minimum requirements in each area have been met. Do not leave any information categories blank.
  • Indicate whether you are applying for an endorsement or a SAEP.
  • Attach a CD copy of your interactive project.
  • Attach a copy of your unit of instruction.
  • Attach a copy of your transcripts and highlight corresponding classes.
  • Attach copies of letters to verify employment.
  • Attach copies of test scores, current professional certifications, licenses, or other documentation requested by the state specialist.
  • Do not send letters of reference.
  • Send the highlighted transcripts, professional certifications and completed form, along with the appropriate processing fee (see information above), to:
