BUSINESS COMMUNICATION I | BUSINESS COMMUNICATION II
Students gain a solid communication base, so they are able to function effectively in any course of study and in our global society.
BUSINESS COMMUNICATION I
Business communication impacts all aspects of our lives. This introductory course will teach students to communicate in a clear, courteous, concise, complete and correct manner on both personal and professional levels. Competency will be developed in oral, written, interpersonal, technological, and employment communication. Listening skills will be incorporated throughout the semester. The overriding goal is to provide students with a solid communication base, so they are able to communicate effectively.

BUSINESS COMMUNICATION II
This advanced course will build upon the skills acquired in Business
Communication I. Students will focus on additional methods of constructive
communication skills. Competency will again be developed in oral, written,
social, technological, employment, and organizational communication with
listening skills incorporated throughout the semester. The goal is to provide
students with a practical, proficient portfolio consisting of a resume,
job application, and an oral presentation. Students will complete the course
with a greater understanding of the impact of technology and the need for
effective communication skills to advance in a business career.

BUSINESS ARTICLES
Students are exposed to various business magazines and will scan magazines to find an article, summarize what they have read, write using MLA style, and present orally to the class. |

STANDARD 5

JOB INTERVIEW
Students learn aspects of interviewing for a job and in the course of the lesson, students do all of the work.
JOB PROCESS PORTFOLIO
Students complete a portfolio assignment over the course of Business Communication II. Portfolio is presented last day of term for grading. |
STANDARD 6
Students will develop organizational communication skills through the development of leadership, personal ethics, and customer-business relationships.
STANDARD 7
Students will present an oral report using presentation software to enhance the presentation.
