Minimum Endorsement Requirements

• Existing Elementary, Middle, or Secondary Education License, and
• Transcripts showing sixteen (16) semester credits completed from the required and/or elective course lists. See below.

Minimum SAEP Requirements

• Existing Elementary, Middle, or Secondary Education License, and
• An assignment that requires the requested endorsement, and
• Transcripts showing a minimum of nine (9) semester hours of completed course work related to the requested endorsement, and
• A plan submitted to and approved by the state specialist outlining all requirements and when/where they will be (or have been) fulfilled.

Required Courses

• USOE New CTE Introduction Teacher Training - 1 credit
• Secondary Keyboarding Methods - 2-3 credits
• Internet, Web Page Creation, etc. - 2-3 credits
• Database and/or Spreadsheet Software - 2-3 credits
• Word Processing, Presentations, and/or Desktop Publishing - 2-3 credits
• Multimedia, Networking, Graphics, Programming, etc. - 2-3 credits

Elective Courses

• Other courses pre-approved by the USOE business education state specialist

The Business Education (6-8) Endorsement allows an educator to teach the following courses:

• Keyboarding I
• Keyboarding Applications
• CTE Introduction - Business
