Summer Conference
JULY 2008
Agricultural Education Summer Conference
July 14-18, 2008
Northern California
Overview
The tentative plans are to leave Salt Lake City at about 11:00 am, after our Monday morning UAAE Business Session and travel west through Nevada. All participants will need to meet the bus at the Utah State Office of Education, 250 East 500 South in Salt Lake City. We will make several stops at local high school agriculture programs and agricultural sites in Nevada and Northern California including olive and almond orchards, vineyards, and redwood forests. There will be 55 seats on the bus. Seats will be reserved on a first-come first-served basis. If we have enough interest and grant money, we will take two buses. At this time, USOE will pay for the following conference costs: tour bus, hotel, park entrance fees, and some meals. This is subject to change. We will go through a pre-registration process to determine how many teachers will participate. Your actual reservation will be made when you register for the conference through the regular registration process.
Lodging Information
We will spend five days on the road with four nights in motels. USOE will pay for the motel rooms. You will be required to stay two per room to save on costs. You will be given an opportunity to select a roommate through the pre-registration process. If you do not have a preference, a roommate will be assigned. We will try to arrange it so that a light breakfast is served as a part of the motel stay. This will be one of the meals paid for by USOE.
