The goal of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) is to:
The FFVP provides a variety of free fresh fruits and vegetables to all enrolled students in the participating schools throughout the school day. Students will be introduced to new and different fruits and vegetables along with nutrition education. Fruits and Vegetables are good low-calorie, low-fat sources of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. The FFVP shows children that fresh fruits and vegetables are healthy and tasty alternatives to snacks that are high in fat, sugar, or salt.
